It is with great sadness I inform you of the passing of Norm "Bungy" Williams. Norm was a stalwart of the SAA and the creator of the Chiefs Log in Up Periscope. His wit and cutting satire was  enjoyed by all = even those who were on the end of his humour.

As you would be aware Norm was fighting cancer for some time now and remained stoic up to the end. He will certainly be missed by all that knew him around the world.

    Vale Norman "Bungy" Williams OAM

    Rest in Peace

It is with a heavy heart that we have to report the death of Ross (Runt) Anderson.

Ross was killed in a motor vehicle accident yesterday and his wife Tina is in hospital with critical, but stable injuries. Our prayers are for a full recovery for Tina.

I joined the squadron and did my part 1&2 with Runt. He was a terrific bloke and his loss is very sad.

Well the Bowen AGM was a great weekend. There was a good rollup and the hospitality shown to us by the Bowen RSL was spectacular.

Had a great night for the meet and greet on the Friday night where we got to interact with the RSL members and of course gave Bruce a chance to shake their pockets out via the raffles.

The Bowen RSL is an excellent venue and is positioned fairly centrally in our region.

The AGM saw most of the executive re-elected in their present positions, but we welcome Steve Kadel in his new role as Vice-president. Well done Steve.

It was great to see Penny Davis put up her hand for the committee and of course good to see Brian Germain remaining on as Welfare. Brian intends extending his training in the near future. Cole Klease remains on the committee and will represent the branch at the upcoming National AGM. Thank you Cole. It was very nice to catch up with Cole and Jan again.

It was great to see Col Lewis and Robin Needham come up from Cabulture for the meeting. Always good to catch up.

We look forward to the upcoming year and hope to see as many as possible at the Christmas meeting in Airlie Beach.

Don't forget to use this website as a communications tool. We pay a motzer for it and should get our money's worth.

Trust all are well, but please let us know if you are not travelling too well or know of someone you believe is struggling.

Spider Webb sent me a link that, as an old fart, made me smile. You old blokes may relate and the young blokes can see what's ahead of them.
